MediaMonkey reviews
MediaMonkey 3.2.1 |
Works very well, many nice features. However I found it unsuited for the main task i downloaded it for: organising my music of a few hundred albums. The main window just displays an endless list of tracks; the list of albums in the left column is unusable as it gets way too long. Also, I cannot drop albums in a playlist, nor can I move albums around on the playlist. There's no 'shuffle' function for albums. One nice feature, though, is the way you can get tag info from the filenames of tracks. But this feature, too, is a bit half-hearted: for instance you cannot get album names from the names of the folders the files are in. After discovering a bug (albumtitles appearing in the 'artist' column of the 'track browser', I decided to look elsewehere... |

Superb program. I moved from Jriver Media center, which looks really baad in comparison. The main advantage of Mediamonkey is speed, if you have a large database this is it. Also, the scriptability and community are exceptional... many plugins out there make this the best player in any platform. |
